Correct pipetting is becoming increasingly important. The smaller the pipetted volume, the more decisive is the accuracy. Regardless of the volume, reproducible values are of course a prerequisite for reliable results. Correct pipetting may seem banal because you encounter it every day in the laboratory.

Up to now, a regularly calibrated and functioning pipette has been sufficient for you as a basis for this. However, many influencing factors play an important role in pipetting with air cushion pipettes. In some cases, it is not known at all in everyday work that these can lead to significant volume deviations.
 

The lecture answers questions relevant to practice, such as:

• What are the different pipetting techniques and which one makes the most sense?
• What should I bear in mind when handling and holding the pipette?
• What measures can I take to maintain the accuracy of my pipette?
