Our dual student Viktoria spent her internship with our BrandTech team in Essex Connecticut

Viktoria started her adventure with a stay in Boston

In Boston Viktoria was located in the lively and centrally located Back Bay neighborhood. In this area you can find many cafes, restaurants and shopping opportunities as well as beautiful parks. In a few minutes you can reach the breathtaking James River waterfront, which traditionally hosts the Independence Day fireworks on July 04. On the way to the North End piers, Victoria passed through Boston's China Town. There she was able to watch performances by judo groups and traditional dance performances.

Viktoria's real destination, however, was the harbor, because Viktoria had decided to go on a whale-watching tour. With catamarans the tourists were brought to the mouth of the Massachusetts Bay for whale watching. Viktoria was lucky enough to observe 16 humpback whales at close range during the 2-hour trip. So the boat trip became one of the absolute highlights of her trip.

After the impressions of this city, Viktoria took a train ride to Essex in Connecticut, the location of BrandTech. The railway line winds along the coast so Viktoria can enjoy great views of small harbours and beautiful sandy beaches.

Getting to know each other at the company meeting on the beach

After arriving at the Essex train station, Viktoria was taken out to dinner at a small harbour. The American colleagues shared their everyday life with Viktoria and showed her the most beautiful beaches and favourite places in the evening.

The next highlight was the 3-day company meeting, which took place in a resort directly on the beach. Sales staff from Germany and the USA met there to get to know each other and exchange ideas. The programme also included training on new products and sales techniques. To make sure that fun was not neglected, garden games such as Cornhole and Jenga were organised in the evenings. After three exciting and intensive days, it was back to work at the Brandtech office.

Viktoria had the chance to get a taste of various departments, but above all she was actively involved in Customer Service. It was particularly interesting for Viktoria to get to know the different IT systems, procedures and working methods of her colleagues. Viktoria also had the opportunity to take part in interesting sales meetings.

To crown this successful internship, all colleagues came together once again for a joint breakfast. Unfortunately, the exciting time passed far too quickly for Viktoria. However, she will continue to network with many of her new colleagues. Viktoria is very grateful that she was able to take advantage of this wonderful experience as part of her dual studies.
